Marine Programme Coordinator The East African Wildlife Society (EAWLS) recognises the importance of marine resources and is aware of the threats facing these resources in Eastern Africa.
It is the intention of EAWLS to employ a Marine Programme Coordinator to develop and implement a well coordinated marine conservation strategy to address these threats across Kenya’s and Tanzania’s coastlines.
 
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:-
  • Designing and coordinating the implementation of a marine conservation strategy
  • Promoting an ecosystem based approach for the conservation and management of coastal marine ecosystems
  • Setting up and supporting community based structures and systems at priority sites that will enhance sustainable utilisation and management of marine resources
  • Building stakeholders’ capacity and competency in policy advocacy, good governance and management of marine resources
Requirements
  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology and or other relevant qualifications from a recognized University, MSc. is an added advantage
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A minimum of five years relevant working experience
  • Flexible in respect of working hours and days

  • At least 8 years experience in repairs and maintenance of diesel engine vehicles.
  • At least 2 years experience in drilling work.
  • Valid BCE class driving license and atleast 3 years experience in driving Lorries, buses or rigs.

Job Title: Customer Service & Demand Planner – East Africa
 
Function: Supply Chain
 
Reporting to: The Head of Supply Overview:
The  Customer service and Demand planner role is to ensure that the business achieves its top line objectives by ensuring that the demand planning process is integrated with the ordering process to ensure a seamless execution of the procurement process keeping in check the inventory and customer service KPIs.
The role manages a smooth network of materials/services and information flows which extend from customer interface to local and overseas production facilities to ensure consistent availability of products at distributors, while managing inventory and delivering of customer service KPIs.
The position reports, as part of the overall Supply Chain organisation, to the Head of Supply. The role exists to support excellent customer service delivery at competitive cost.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Manage all the East Africa distributors with respect to collecting accurate IMS data, structure and analyse this data for use in the demand planning process.
  • Liaison with Sales to ensure availability of updates IMS forecast for all SKUs and all markets.
  • Establish a working knowledge of the customers supply chain goals and working relationship with customers supply chain establishment to facilitate achieving positive business results.
  • Lead the SNOP and Demand planning process within the company.
  • Based on forecasts to secure confirmed orders from the customers and coordinate  issuance of  proforma invoices for the same
  • Ensure the customers are billed in a timely manner and that the payments from the customers are received before releasing original documents to them
  • Closely works with Supply Planner to ensure Distributor orders are met in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Deliver high levels of customer service to the customer- order fill rates, on time deliveries, forecast accuracy etc.
  • Support collaborative and efficient cross-functional relationships within the company and Distributor organisations
  • Ensure that all the supply chain activities conform with the legislative, safety, health and environmental requirements

Position: Driver

Job Responsibilities:
  • Based at the SHOPS/Nigeria Office in Lagos, the Driver performs the operations, main­tenance, and management of project vehicles, including routine maintenance, regis­tration, tagging, and tax exemptions, as well as providing transportation for project activities for the SHOPS/Nigeria team. As needed, the Driver performs office support tasks, as requested by the project management team. Specific tasks include:


Project Vehicles Tasks:
  • Drive project, and project affiliated personnel to project sites within and outside or Lagos for project activities, including official site visits.
  • Establish record keeping systems for vehicle issues, including fuel, mileage, and trip logs; observe all company vehicle utilization policies, in country traffic laws
  • Responsible for the maintenance of project vehicle, keeping accurate records, and following a schedule of routine maintenance, cleaning, etc.
  • Ensure the readiness of the vehicle for transport service by checking oil, water, fuel and other parts of the vehicle, prior to driving.
  • Perform project routine business around Lagos, such as receiving and delivering official project documentation to and from USA1D, general office purchasing.


Office Tasks:
  • Regularly check post office boxes, collect and dispatch letters, parcels and other correspondence.
  • In general, perform any other tasks as designated by the Administration Manager.

Skills Prerequisites:                                                       
  • Valid Nigerian Driver’s License.
  • At least, 5 years prior experience in commercial driving.
  • Completion of Secondary School is highly desirable.
  • Excellent driving record and experience in traveling through Lagos and other key cities;
  • Previous work experience on a development project is desirable.
  • Good command of English language (skills).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Lake Victoria North Water Services Board (LVNWSB) is one of the eight Water Services Boards established under the Water Sector Reforms Programme through the Water Act 2002 for the purpose of bringing about efficiency and sustainability in the provision of water supply and sanitation services in the country.
The Board was established through Kenya Gazette Notice No. 1717 of 12th March, 2004 and licensed by the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) on 11th May, 2007.
Lake Victoria North Water Services Board covers seven counties including the entire Western Province and parts of the Rift Valley Province. Geographically, this translates to about 14,000 square kilometers, with an estimated population of about 7,000,000 people.
Lake Victoria North Water Services Board is seeking to recruit a suitable self driven, result oriented and highly qualified individual to fill the position of the CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER.
Key Responsibilities
The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible to the Board of Directors, and shall be the Principal Officer of the Board responsible for the overall leadership and implementation of the Board mandate and aspirations as may be outlined in the performance targets and strategic plan.
Job Profile
  • Carrying out day-to-day business of the Board to ensure that departments, sections and units conform to the overall operations plans and performance targets.
  • Providing overall leadership and overall administration of the operations of the Lake Victoria North Water Services Board under the guidance of the Board.
  • Developing short term corporate strategies, for Board of Directors approval, for effective implementation of the strategies stipulated in the Board’s Strategic Plan;
  • Managing internal multidisciplinary teams and external parties to ensure set objectives are achieved.
  • Developing performance standards together with mechanisms for ensuring compliance therewith by Water Service Providers.
  • Promoting Board’s image and develop good working relationship with all stakeholders and partners while promoting the principles of good governance in the Board’s area of jurisdiction;
  • Developing networks and partnerships with development partners and spearhead donor collaboration, fund raising and project development within the Board’s area of jurisdiction.
  • Advising the Board of Directors on expansion of business operations, investment planning and sustainable development of water service facilities.
  • Directing and coordinating the Board’s operations and administration so as to ensure that the various organs of the Board operate in conformity with the overall operational plans and performance targets;
  • Advising the Board of Directors concerning future activities of the Board and also on the objectives and policies while eliminating any form of risks which would affect the smooth management of the organization.
  • Ensuring compliance with Government’s policy and regulatory guidelines and directives.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics or Business Administration;
  • Must have a Masters degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Management, Administration or related discipline from a recognized university; OR be a registered Engineer with the ERB or any relevant registration body.
  • Registration with relevant a professional body will be an added advantage.
  • Should have at least ten (10) years of experience in a Water and Sanitation Sector, and at least 5 years in Senior Management position;
  • Should have undergone a Corporate Governance/Leadership Course in a recognized institution;
  • Should have experience of implementing donor funded projects;
  • Should have track history of integrity, creativity, innovation, self drive and result orientation;
  • Should have exceptional visionary leadership and negotiation skills with capacity to engage with local, regional and international organizations;
  • Should have excellent communication and presentation skills, strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and team capacities and high professional ethical standing;
  • Should be self driven and capable of working under minimum supervision.
